In case you hadn't seen,  limited to 100k subscribers.

https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/music/streaming/offers

You might need to be new to get the offer (not sure). And presumably in the US.

If you're a current subscriber they automatically lower your rate to $14.99 or you can switch to a year at $12.50 a month.  Made the switch to $12.50 the day of the announcement and they credited me the difference between the old monthly rate and the year at billing. So $137.92 for a year.

I switched to the new program. Received a pro-rata credit for my old subscription that reduced the price of my new subscription, meaning that I'm getting a full year of high-rez audio for about $80. Thw switch was instantaneous and hassle free.

Same here and even when I switched from the UK account I had from several years the process was painless. The catalog is filling in a bit as a time as they are down to dealing with the independent labels and their distributors and some releases in the EU will never be available here as they are not available for purchase on Amazon either except as higher priced imports.  This is one label David mentioned specifically that they have no agreement with yet.

Me as well. Never thought I would stream anything. WRONG. Quite good actually. Had a trial then stepped up day of announcement.

Qobuz is the best streaming service out there for sound quality.  They also have expanded their library a LOT this past year.  I love it because it sounds great and it allows me to do a 'deep dive' into performers that I might not have listened to otherwise.  It's easy to branch out and check out other stuff when the only cost is your time.

I'm fairly late to streaming audio in that I only started using Tidal HiFi in the past year.

Is Qobuz studio premiere higher quality than Tidal HiFi?

Thanks for posting about this.

Yes, Qobuz has actual hirez files.  No compression or messing about with stuff like MQA.  I also find the sound quality on standard 16/44 files is better on Qobuz than Tidal.

However, I do think the interface for Tidal is better.  Qobuz is not bad but Tidal is outstanding at using the screen well.

In my system Quboz hirez files sounded very detailed but after about 2 hours listening fatigue set in and I just could not go back to using it. MQA through the Bluesound Node just sounds very relaxed like analog. Human voices sound almost like the person is in the room on good recordings like the recent re-releases of James Taylor and the Beatles. Once you get used to it most digital recordings (even in hirez) sound a little harsh in comparison to MQA. Don't get me wrong, if I never heard an MQA file I could likely get along very nicely in "hirez/redbook", but now I just prefer it.

Have an audio buddy who doesn't own a CD, vinyl, or ripped file - he streams everything.  Was a Tidal fanboy but has switched now to Amazon for selection and sound quality.
