3bsst vs 4bsst
« on: 6 Feb 2005, 07:12 pm »
Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm in a hurry for some info.

Is there any sonic difference between the 3bsst and 4bsst?

I currently have the 3bsst running Paradigm Studio 60 v2, and I have the opportunity to pick up a 4bsst.

Is it worth it to upgrade?  The room is sealed, 11x20x8 (if that makes a difference).

Thanks,
Aaron

By themselves, I don't believe you will find any differences sonically.  However, if you have speakers which are difficult to drive, a 4B-SST will  get more out of them.

4B for more power if needed.
3B more defined with less caps, resistors...etc.

Your 3B is good for you now and many monitors, but if you get larger speakers down the road (ie. Studio 100s), you may want a 4B
