Humdinger questions

Hi Frank. I had a question or two about the Humdinger. First, what is the maximum DC voltage on the AC line that the Humdinger can deal with? Next, any chance you could give us a hint when or if they might go on sale again? :green:

The HumDinger works on both 120V and 240V AC power lines.  However for 4N 240V uses, they may need adaptors available at stayonline.com.

Must not be used on US 240V three phase lines as that puts a hot phase live on the chassis.

The HumDinger is available for immediate delivery.  Another sale is not likely.

Hi Frank,

I have about +0.06 to -0.02Vdc on my line. Is this enough to cause problems? Seems like a minuscule amount to me.

Thanks Frank, but what I was asking about was more along the lines of "“the Humdinger shall block up to XX mV DC from the incoming AC line and shall allow no more than YY mV DC at its output”.

The HumDinger blocks up to 0.7V DC volts on your power line.

If you hear any power transformer buzz hum from your equipment, the HumDinger probably will eliminate this issue.

We mean noise coming directly from the equipment itself, not from through the speakers.

If not, simply return it for a refund.

If your DC offset on your power line is more than 0.7V, then probably two HumDingers in series will fix the issue.

For me it completely eliminated the humming in the transformer of my amp
Humming in speakers could be due to various reasons most common being ground loop.
Not sure if Humdinger can solve ground loop issues but frank should be the best person to get an answer from

Our HumDinger blocks low level DC voltage riding on your AC power line that causes power transformers to hum. This is hum you hear directly from the chassis of your amplifier.

It does not usually affect hum coming from your speakers.  This is caused by ground loops or interactions between you power cords and signal cables, or even from RF pickup from near by radio stations or other transmitters.
