I am selling my Rogue Athena.  It may be unique as it comes with a factory coupling cap upgrade.  The white caps in the photo are Silver-Gold-Oil Mundorfs.  The list price was $6,000.

This is a very good sounding preamp.  It utilizes 6H30 Supertubes.  The included tubes are a matched quad of Upscale Audio's ARC Select, Cryo-treated Sovteks.  They should have plenty of life left in them.  The Athena has a low 250 Ohm output impedance so it will match well with just about any amplifier.

Among the Athena's features are a custom made motorized volume attenuator, a separate power supply, solid metal remote, and 5 gain levels for easy amp matching.  There are both RCA and balanced inputs and outputs as well as both tape monitor and processor circuits.  There is no phono section but there is an HT bypass.

The Athena has some quirks.  It makes both turn-on and turn-off thumps.  If the Athena is turned on two or three minutes before the amp and the amp is turned off two or three minutes before the Athena, these noises can be avoided.  It has a low-level buzz when changing volume levels.  This is normally inaudible while listening but there is nothing that can be done about it.  This equipment also inverts phase.  However, it has a phase invert button so you can change phase right at the preamp if you want.  Frankly, I have failed to hear any difference between phase settings but your experience may differ.

Included are the original box, manual, and remote.

At my asking price, I will cover Paypal.  This is a heavy unit and I will be happy to quote shipping costs to the 48 contiguous states.  I will ship via FedEX ground.  I am in the St. Louis area and would also be willing to meet a buyer within a reasonable radius.  Pick up is also welcome.

Contact me with any questions.  Thanks for looking over my ad.  Kent Johnson 636-399-8053
