Glider Software with Streamers
« on: 5 Jul 2019, 04:49 pm »
Folks, a question to those that are using Glider with their Bryston streamers.

Does this software allow access to iTunes on a pc as well as songs stored on a NAS connected to the router associated with the same pc?  Current use of Manic Moose only allows access to one source at a time.  To access itunes requires shareplay be activated, allowing songs to be selected on the iMac only and not through MM.  Selection of shareplay also disables MPD in MM to access the NAS drive and needs to be re-activated to access the songs on the NAS.  It is a bit of an inconvenience to switch back and forth.  Reading the Glider developers site seems to suggest that both music locations would be accessible simultaneously with their software.

Has this been anyone's experience with Glider?  Thank you in advance.

Glider lets you add multiple sources but the sources need to be compatible. I don't think it will find iTunes Sharing, but it will find UPnP sources which you could run on your NAS. You can configure it to use multiple network sources at the same time.

One thing I think also happens though is that Glider uses AirPlay to stream to most targets. Which may not be what you want.
