Shoulda let me know about the Polk receiver bud!  Coulda saved you a couple bucks - my non-XM distributor carries those.  Go figure...

Well I would certainly have let you know, but I got it for Christmas!  It was quite a surprise to me as well. . .

Think you can talk them into boosting the bandwidth for XM 51?

Sweet gift!  I don't even have any pull with my distributor - so I've got less with XM!

If you get so hooked you need a MyFi, let me know!

Actually what we are doing with the Xd product in terms of speaker correction is quite a bit different from what other companies are doing, including SOCS. Trust me, we are very aware of what other companies have done with speaker correction and digital crossover. However, the DEQX system we use in the Xd is the first system to use a number of unique processing techniques. If you want to learn more about it, go to the DEQX website, www.deqx.com, or the NHT site, www.nhthifi.com, and look at the Xd white paper.

By the way, NHT doesn't have a mission statement; we've been around since before that fad became popular.

Hey John Hidley,

Glad you could join us.  One question, for inquisitive mind, does DEQX/NHT Xd provide their 'unique ideas' in their papers san implementation (I haven't read them yet)?  I was curious, because I'd loved to read them if they delve into the details a bit.

To John Hidley & John Ashman, my apologies.  That came across as more smart assed than I meant it too.   I'm sure it's a step from what's been done before, I merely meant that there are other pioneers who've been trying to do some of those things.  You've obviously worked the kinks out.  I hope one day to be able to hear a pair, and I've been drooling over the prospect of trying a DEQX for a long time.  Think they'll ever have a 6 channel version for under $1.5K?

I would start with the white paper on the NHT website. Go to this link and the white paper is the first item on the list.

http://www.nhthifi.com/scripts/nhttech.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_alp.php?p_sid=FXx3G2xh&p_lva=&p_sp=&p_li=

Here is a link to the DEQX site where there is a white paper on the DEQX process and a large FAQ section.

http://www.deqx.com/FAQ/FAQ-Index.html

Both of these white papers go into the general stuff that is going on in the system. Ask me whatever questions you have beyond that and I'll be gald to answer them for you. Until you've read these papers, we may not be on the same page and I'd like to try to keep my fingers from falling off! I don't have the typing stamina that Ashman has:)
