Even Dylan diss-ers will find something of interest. The film definitely shows a younger, non-mumbling Dylan, energetic and clear minded (really!) and that alone is worth the price of admission. The Rolling Thunder Revue era has never been my favorite Dylan but there is great music here. And it’s an odd film because Scorsese deliberately mixes fiction into documentary fact, supposedly as some part of a puzzle or game, see below. Still, it’s interesting and entertaining. And it’s probably won’t be news to many that Patti Smith, by her own druggy testimony, is from another dimension.

As a side comment, if I never hear “One More Cup of Coffee’ again that would be fine with me.
