 tube preamplifier. I had a few of those preamps over the years and this is the best of them. It is unusual in the sense that it must be a transition or experimental model from A to B series since it employs additional power regulations modules but does not have automatic startup delay which can be problematic in times. Preamplifier still has original PSU capacitors so the level of mains related noise is higher which can but does not have to be an issue depending on efficiency of speakers used. I replaced capacitors in some of those preamps so I can certainly do it for perspective buyer free of charge if he chooses so. There are many who prefer to keep the original caps and source the original replacements (even used ones ) for the sake of sound and appearance . All the tubes are branded International C Service Master and are Japanese origin. They test well and are pretty closely matched . They sound great in that pre.
