I'm looking for a 2-channel preamp with a remote motorized volume control (I'll also consider a solid-state integrated amp with remote). Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Rick,

The best preamp I have owned that doesn't do room correction was the Bent NOH transformer based passive preamp.

I sold mine to Chris (Lonewolfny), maybe you can convince him to part with it?

In terms of an integrated...that DK Designs is getting a lot of good press.

I've ordered the Modwright SWL linestage.  His mods for my SACD/CD player are incredible.  The word on the web (and his forum here) about his pre is equally impressive.   The remote controls the volume, there are 4-5 inputs, and an HT bypass.  It's a tubed pre.

A remote?

Come on Rick you can consider walking over to the preamp your daily exercise.

All kidding aside if you did not need a remote the Blue Circle preamps are incredible with your arrays.

The BC103 is their solid state model. Ask Enrico what he thought of it compared to the others we had for the shootout.

Again this is "if" you could overlook the remote thing. I wanted a remote as well but the sound convinced me otherwise.

I will send you a PM as well...

i stopped looking for preamps when i first read about the jadis jp80. i was never more sure after i heard it with canary reference one amps, jadis symphonia cd player, and some french horn speakers. a remote controlled volume version is available. i am also curious about the jadis jps2, never heard it though.

i don't own a preamp yet.

i am also a big biased jadis fan...

good luck to your search.

FYI - Blue Circle preamps are available with an optional remote control volume.  It is RF-based (not infrared) and works up to 85ft.  Pricing depends on the model...

Look into the Velleman K8022 (the K designates the kit version) passive preamp. Has a mini keychain RF remote, motor controlled volume control, two  stereo line level RCA inputs and one RCA output. Minimallistic, high quality and cheap, cheap, cheap. I am not sure if they still offer it though. When I bought mine they offered in kit form (really simple to build) and a built version. I did have to wait several months for it to arrive from Belgium because the dealer in Canada kept selling out. I hope they still make this unit.

Well, I won't be selling the Bent. It sounds excellent in my system. Out of the four preamps I own, I like it the best. I did hear zybar's/ George's TACT...in his system....worked and sounded great !!! The new ModWright looks very good, and is getting some excellent reviews from new buyer's. I will have a chance to hear the DK Audio intergrated next month at a NY Rave, and a few AC members are enjoying it (that's what they have told me). What amp will you match this new preamp with ?
