Hello from Italy
« on: 9 Jan 2019, 11:26 am »
Hello, I'm new to Audiocircle (registered 2 minutes ago), but an audiophile (on and off) since 1987, when my father told me: now that you are 16, I'm going to give you a great birthday present... well that present changed my life, who knows if for better or worse.
I registered to ask a question in the NuPrime circle, but who knows where this will take me.
My system is frequently changing since my interest in audio resurged some 3 years ago.
My way to this hobby is not stable or cumulative, but rather a series of revolutions. Resembles Leon Trotsky maybe more than Charlemagne  :icon_lol:, or maybe I just hope to find some peace now. Time will tell.
My main interest now is to integrate Qobuz in my hi-fi system (I just discovered it and I find it fantastic) and to try class D amps, which I find very interesting. But I also have a lot of respect for the japanese Jazz Café audio culture. Life is complex, and audio too in my opinion.
Well it's getting verbose, so I stop here.
I've seen some threads and this looks like a great place. It feels good to be here.  :D

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Indeed, welcome.  At Audiocircle, we are from all over the world.   I am in Texas, USA.  In what part of Italy are you located?  I've visited your country once, and hope to return in a few years.  Most of what I saw was stunningly beautiful.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I'm in Florence. So maybe there's a chance you spend a day or two here if you visit the country.
It would be great to meet audiophiles from other countries, and maybe enjoy a glass of Chianti Classico together if you like.

Thanks a lot to everyone. You make me feel at home here.

And, yes the t-bone steak is our great classic. EU tried to ban it years ago, but ultimately failed and the steak came back to stay. (I'm kidding, there were preoccupations in the Mad Cow era, later dissolved.) I must say I don't eat it often, but it still holds its own.
