Offering for sale a very nicely built ACA, this is a pair of monoblock amps built on a single chassis (a nice one too, it was close to $100). The two channels are completely separate, each with its own power supply. For convenience the power switch is twinned so it turns both sides on/off together.
This single-ended Class A
solid state amp outputs 5 watts per channel. Being a solid state design, bass is deeper and the damping factor is higher, so the amp will drive more speakers than a typical 5w tube amp could. But ideally your speakers should be at least 90-91dB sensitivity. Ideally it would mate well with a tube preamp, but that's just one opinion. It operates at normal temperature, it doesn't run hot like many Class A designs.
The ACA is powered by a pair of HP laptop power supplies, which are fitted with locking collar connectors. The binding posts and RCA jacks are also high quality. The amp is only 18 mos old, and hasn't seen a lot of action. It was built by the talented Frank Wang in Toronto.
