UpTone Audio's IsoRegen (with LPS 1.2 PS)

I really don't know where to post this, but here goes...

Earlier this year I realized that Deezer - my preferred streaming service - has a new desktop app in beta that allowed me to access their lossless tracks. I was going to buy another Sonos, since that's one of the few ways to access Deezer lossless (called Deezer Hi-Fi) in the US. But instead I decided to try running a USB cable from my macbook air into my DAC, and use this as my source for my headphone rig.

Anyway, I happened to come across this gadget that people were raving about. I still couldn't tell you what it really is, other than many refer to them as "de-crapifiers". Many companies are producing them currently, but UpTone seemed to be one of the best. I went ahead and ordered one of their package deals with the linear power supply, being pretty confident I was likely going to return it within the 30-day in-home trial period. I just didn't believe it was going to make that much difference.

It arrived today, and while I was going to wait a bit before posting about it, the difference is so stark that it's almost making me uncomfortable. It feels as if my headphone rig is possessed by some audio demon and it's doing things it shouldn't typically be able to do. My gear is of good quality, but not uber high end by any means. I'm running a Schiit Modi multibit DAC into a Woo Audio WA-7 amp, and so far I've only listened with my Grado RS-2e headphones. I've never heard my Grados sound like this...not even close.

Anyone else had experience with this gadget?

A few years ago I took a chance on the original amber Regen with standard switching PS.
I use a mac mini. My reaction when I dropped it in my system was much like yours.
I haven't removed it since. I've heard that the difference between original and the ISO is not subtle.

That's exactly why I'm so taken aback. This sort of improvement just doesn't often happen in audio, as we all know. Outside of an actual headphone upgrade, this isn't the sort of jump in performance that would ever be on my radar. He did make some changes to the power supply, and many are buying extra of those units to power other devices, so that probably plays a role. But yeah, as of now, this is easily the most significant upgrade I've ever experienced with my headphone rig, other than a headphone upgrade. There's just no way I'm sending this back.
