SOLD!I am moving away from tube mania and reducing my inventory of "back up" tubes. This one is a vintage matched pair of NOS Mullard EL37 plus a spare. Three altogether. Manufactured in England at the Blackburn plant. Purchased in 2015 with good test results. Unused since purchase other than testing to make sure they worked on arrival. Black bases are tight, good pins, stencil, flashing, original tube boxes. Dual halo bottom getters. Codes visible on one of the tubes (see photos).
Test results:
GM 6300 and 6150 (3800 minimum good).
40.1 and 40.5 ma.
Tube World says: "EL37 Mullard is a 25 watt audio output power pentode. Other similar substitutions are 6L6GC, 5881, KT66, 5932."
"The EL37 are sonically between a EL34 Mullard and GE 6L6GC; strong and punchy with good richness and complexity in the midrange, probably the best 6L6."
On the web, it seems that the EL37 and RCA Blackplate 6L6 are the two favorite of this type.
