SOLD - thank you
Well, the move is complete ... the settling has commensed and these are still wirh me. most likely due to the terrible photos I had on hand ... and the fact my email had changed so I missed questions! Sorry to all affected and inconvenienced by my stupidity.
No. These speakers are not “lookers” and they have negative Spousal/Partner Acceptance Factor, but they are nowhere as bad as my original photos indicated ... and once again, DARN! They sound great!

Here was the sense of the original ad (with updates to reflect new location):
Many of you may well remember the saga, but selling a darn fine pair of speakers here for a song.
These started out as the SP Technology Essence AV-1 speakers which were best described as a more basic audio-visual sibling to the much-lauded SP Audio Continuum large standmount loudspeakers. Bill Baker saw some opportunity and perfomed a number of tweaks to crossover components, damping and even added internal Bybee filters to them to voice them in an incredibly musical manner.

These have been with me for nearly ten-years and stood the test of time and music. They have sounded great with tubes and solid state amps. They sound good with modest power, but filled a small auditorium to stunning levels in a test with the original Crown Macro Reference.
Originally they were wrapped in speaker fabric in a Vandersteen-style manner, but as these had torn prior to my acquisition, I removed them to reveal the more Continuum "naked-driver" look. My intent was to have the sides veneered. The front baffles are finished in the typical pro truck bed spray manner, but the mdf-sides are partially sprayed and partially not. They could be easily painted and would look much better.

Sonically, they are awesome. They have been bulletproof throughout to this day.
Due to their size, shipping would be exorbitant, so I would suggest a pick-up in Murrysville, PA 15668.

Originally, Bill was to sell these for between $2,990 and $3,990. I know he released them and sold multiple pairs,, but beyond a very favorable review by Scott Faller, in the May 2007 issue of Enjoy the Music for the smaller SP/AV 1 speakers, I do not know much more about the line.
They are a beautiful MTM design

Again, pick-up in Murrysville, PA 15668 (just East of Pittsburgh- near Monroeville)- $500 for the pair
I will cover PayPal fees for this one.
As a note, Bill had some pricey custom Skylan stands designed for these, but was Out-of-stock when I purchased them, so I purchased and used a pair of adjustable Core Audio stands with limestone bases, maple/birch wood columns and steel top plates (like the Sonus Faber designs). These are NOT INCLUDED, but work well with the speakers and would be available for and additional $250 for the pair.
