Hey all

I found my way here via Sonic Craft, where I bought a kit to fix an old Golden Tube Audio SE-40 power amp. I'm sure I'll be looking into and posting about that soon.

I'm a Sound Designer/audio engineer by trade and musician by night.  I like to make/use DIY pedals and equipment in my home studio, so I'm pretty much immersed in some form of audio all the time.

I recently came into some audiophile equipment which I'm excited to get into, but I will maintain my pro-audio skeptical-leaning mind.

To start with, I got a pair of Acoustat Spectra 3's, an absolutely gigantic Fried model H Subwoofer, a Golden Tube SEP 2 preamp, a broken (although now mostly repaired Golden Tube SE-40 power amp, and a loaner Rega 1 turntable with a Parasound Z Phono uhh, phono stage.

I was hoping to post some questions and info about the SE-40 repair, but I find  I'm "not allowed" yet.  There must be some waiting period to prevent spam bots. I've definitely got some more electrical engineering to study up on in the mean-time.

Welcome to AudioCircle. I don't know the exact number, but you need a minimum number of posts before you have full access. It's not many.

In other forum I was member it was 50 posts.
