SOLD

Here is a review with some details about these speakers

http://www.highfidelityreview.com/alegria-audio-arias.html

1. The speakers are a Bipole design with each cabinet including front & rear firing FR125 drivers with XBL motors.

2. No crossovers

3. Maple veneer, the dimensions are 37"H x 7"W x 9"D.

4. The speakers have a completely "box-less" sound.

5. I used these with a DYI gain clone amp and and a $99 Schitt DAC. The combination sounded AMAZING for the money.

6. I am offering these because I am selling my second home where these were used and no longer have a need for them.

7. The speakers are box up and ready to go. The dimensions of each box is 40" x12"X12" and each weights just under 40 lbs.  Unfortunately, this may mean shipping may be relatively expensive, depending on your location.

8. These are great speakers IMHO, especially for the asking price. I am not trying to get top dollar here, but am interested in selling to someone who will enjoy them.

Thanks for looking.

My 2 cents are, as they have 2 drivers per box front and back they are bipolar, the dipoles have just 1 driver that emit sound to front/back.

These were the brain child of Tim Forman of Alegra audio. I also built a set some 12 years ago or so and still use them as my main sound for my tv in one room. They are great. Tim had a few great designs. I believe he's retired now. A great guy. Almost tempted to buy them just for the drivers.
Good luck with the sale.

This speaker allow a very unusual option:
1) Run both drivers in phase as usual in any speaker.
2) Run the back driver out of phase to a exquisite effect, in this case similar a dipole speaker.

Multiple 5,7 and 9 drivers and out of phase connections was extensively studied in Bessel line arrays.

Bingo! Tim Of Alegra Audio is person that built these. Thanks JohnCZ for figuring this out.

I am not much of a speaker designer. But I believe with Tim's design, the rear wave of the opposing drivers significantly cancelled each other out. As as result, cabinet resonance was reduced. Does this make sense?

Yup, they are great speakers.
