Found marble 9.0's

I found a pair of black marble 9.0's for $1200.  Any recommendations on amp, cables etc for these speakers.  All I have is a yamaha rx v3300 reciever.  I'm just getting into this audiophile thing.

That's a steal - congrats!

I suggest you consider the Odyssey Audio Cyclops integrated amp ($895).  For a source, do a search here for recent comments on Shengya or Shanling tubed cd players.  The U.S. importer is now discounting one of the affordable models and the sound quality is said to be very good.  The Eastern Electric MiniMax CD player has gotten some rave reviews and is something like $800-$900.  I favor tubed cd players as I find them more musical and you have the flexibility to easily tailor the sound by plugging in different tubes.

Complement these components with good quality cables such as Bolder Cable M-80 interconnect (1 pair) and Nitro power cables (2 pieces) and, for the cd player, a OneAC isolation filter (<$50 on eBay) to filter our power line noise.  Budget also for a Roompack of acoustic treatments from 8th Nerve and you are pretty much set to enjoy some great tunes.

marble 9.0 set up

Thanks for the info guys.  I am considering getting a sony 999es or denon 3910 and having it modified by modwright so I can take advantage of the new technology and play cd's, dvd's, sacd's etc.  Then eventually get a pair of IRD MB-100's or Channnel island monoblocks to drive the 9.0's.  I've read the norh multiamps sound really good and offer more flexability but they don't make them anymore.  Decisions, decisions, decisions?

Congrats.  I used to have the IRD MB100/nOrh LeAmp powering my nOrh 9.0s.  A good power filter makes a nice improvement.  The CI may have the benefit of newer technology, I have not heard it.  Add a tubed source such as a Modwright unit and you will enjoy great sound.
