NX-TREME Crossover Board
« on: 21 Oct 2021, 02:50 am »
Well, I have a curious one for NX-treme makers; what box had the crossover boards? It was not in the GR box, and I assumed it was with the baffles. The box with the main baffles came, and no board. I assume it would be in the box with the cross pieces, and it appears not.

Anyone know where those are supposed to be so I know who to follow up with?

Hi Noah, I messaged Jay about this when I got my first flat pack. The NX-Treme's do not come with a crossover board. Apparently they used to include them, but Jay said that after they were machined they warped quite badly. I built my own on my CNC at home, but you could easily do the same with a tablesaw, a track saw, or even a circular saw.

Does anyone have the dimensions for these crossover boards, out suggested materials? Thanks!

I measured the ones in Danny's Oticas the other day.
12 deep. 5.5" wide at the front, 10.5" at the rear.

They both use the same base board. Just a different crossover layout/parts

Jay sent me a file showing the dimensions he used for the boards. His board was significantly smaller than the space inside the base of the cabinet. I assume this is so that you can run no rez all the way down the sides and the crossover board will sit inside the no rez. I decided to make mine the full size of the inside of the cabinet to give me maximum room for crossover component placement. If you have a CAD program shoot me your email and I'll send you the drawing of mine.

Hobbs - thanks for the measurements - that is perfect. Subsonic - I don't have a CNC so the CAD files will be wasted on me, but I appreciate it!
