I use my MacMini as a music server in my main system. If I got a music streamer of some kind, I could replace the MacMini and relegate the Mini to act as a remote music server/NAS/disc server, I had a couple questions:
1. I currently employ a "Mac Sandwich" to prevent EMI/RFI into my system. If this MacMini 'goes remote,' the Mac Sandwich seems somewhat unnecessary at that point, correct? Or would it still impact/improve audio quality?
2. Follow-on to my first question: once you put a network between components, there is isolation between components, therefore no real need/benefit to reduce EMI/RFI and provide clean power except at the destination, yes? I am of course assuming the network has sufficient bandwidth and no real substantial collisions, etc.
Am trying to understand a little better what the effects are from putting multiple audio server/streamer components on a network and what steps should be taken to ensure high quality audio transfer. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
