This pair of British built Monitor Audio Silver S1s were purchased second hand here a few years ago and have been used sparingly in a bedroom system (that's now going away).  Please note that the Silver S1 is not the same speaker as the current M.A. S1.  These retailed new for $550, use an aluminum (?) RST 5.5" woofer and a 1" gold dome tweeter, and the cabinets are black vinyl that looks like oak veneer.  These work and sound great, and are presentable but show some age with scuffs and minor scratches here and there (particularly on the bottoms).  One of the bi-wire jumpers has been replaced with a nicely fitted but slightly smaller jumper.  I used them on stands with a sub, but they have decent bass on their own, particularly considering their compact size.  They would make wonderful desktop speakers and sound great in the near field... crisp and clean with no etch or extra sizzle.  Grills fit tightly and show no holes or wear.  I don't have the original boxes, but they will be carefully double boxed for safe shipping in CONUS only. Several pairs of these on ebay right now in the $300+ range.  I would take $170 for the pair plus actual shipping.
