Music Fidelity M1 DAC -- Asynchronous USB
« on: 6 Mar 2017, 12:24 pm »
Selling a great condition, Music Fidelity M1 Digital-to-Analog Converter in Black. The M1 has 4 digital inputs, including, balanced, USB, optical and coaxial. Personally, I would recommend using a USB-S/PDIF converter to get the highest SQ. S/PDIF delivers at 32, 44.1 ("Red Book" CD), 48, 88, 96, or 192kHz. In terms of outputs there are both RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced, Additionally, it a choke regulated power supply which results in a very low noise floor.

In terms of the SQ, the M1 delivers an extremely clear, accurate reproduction of the music. Nothing is artificially distorted and the purity of sound is quite impressive. This is why it still remains a relevant DAC today. I really like the Burr-Brown DSD1796 D/A chips that this utilizes.

Performance:
•   Jitter: <12 picoseconds peak to peak
•   THD(+ noise): <0.0025% 10Hz to 20 kHz
•   Frequency Response: +0, --1dB, 5Hz to 100 kHz
Inputs:
•   1x XLR AES balanced digital input
•   1x RCA coaxial connector SPDIF 32-192 kbps (16-24 bit stereo PCM)
•   1x TOSLINK optical connector 32-96 kbps (16-24 bit stereo PCM)
•   1x USB type 'B' connector for computer/PDA - 16-24 bits, 32-96 kbps (Determined by source file/computer settings)
Outputs:
•   1x line level RCA (phono)
•   1x line level XLR (balanced)
General:
•   Dimensions - WxHxD (mm): 220 x 100 x 300
•   Weight (unpacked / packed): 3.4 kg / 4.1 kg

Included: Music Fidelity M1 DAC, power cord.
