SOLD: Dodd Audio Preamp
« on: 7 Feb 2017, 02:43 pm »
Dodd Audio preamp I purchased new from Gary in December 2011.  It has less than 200 hours on it.
BUFFER is printed on the back, but it has approx 16dB gain.

Cocobolo faceplate.

Matching remote.

6h30-DR tube
Mundorf Silver/Oil output caps.

Only issue is that the remote seems to constantly drain the battery.  I have the same issue with my Dodd buffer remote.

You will need to supply 12v battery and charger.

Mike

Hello,

Did you mean that the remote's battery gets drained or the remote drains the preamp's battery?  Also, have you used this with solid state amps at all? If so, impressions?

Best,

Steven

The 9 volt battery in the remote seems to drain quickly.  The preamp requires it's own 12 volt external battery.

I have only used this with a Class D Audio amp.  Sounded wonderful, but it was around this time tinnitus took over my life, so listening impressions are a little skewed.
