What was old is new again
« on: 12 Jan 2017, 11:09 pm »
It seems I needed to renew my membership for some reason.  Old password etc. still worked. I registered in March of 2005 but I needed to introduce myself here which is very cool.  I am very unknowledgeable when it comes to the technical side of audio but I enjoy reading the reviews and some of the other aspects of audio found here at audio circle. I have done this over the last several years.

I came to audio circle because I obtained a pair of Ellis 1801's and a bit later a prototype speaker (floor standing MTM) built by David Ellis and Dennis Murphy around 2003 and 2004.  I have enjoyed countless hours of music from these speakers. Lately I started to get more into home theater and decided I needed to try a center channel. Currently I am using one of the 1801's as a center to experiment. Honestly, one reason I am posting is because I am interested in some of the speakers available in the trading post etc.  I am hoping that the Salk speakers are similar to my speakers in some ways since Dennis Murphy is involved in many of the Salk speakers.

I included a picture of the floor standers for those that may be interested.  The tweeter is the (gold) hiqupon and the mid woofer is the seas. They are quite tall at 49 inches.

Greetings & Welcome 'back' to AC Gary   :thumb:  Nice looking speakers. You could probably start a thread in the Salk circle and get feedback from both Jim & Dennis regarding your voicing question.

Gary,

Check out Dennis' latest design, an MTM center channel. Maybe just what you need.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.  The center channel from Dennis is very interesting.  One more candidate to consider.
