Vintage tuners for sale ---- SOLD!! All of them.
« on: 16 Dec 2016, 03:04 pm »
I have an Amber Model 7, a Kenwood KT-917, and a Sony XDR-F1HD. Each of these tuners have been with me for years and all have problems. I can't (or don't want to) fix them because of shaky hands, poor eyesight, and no electronics training or skill.
The Amber is in pieces as of this morning. It has a pair of switches for up or down station selection. For some reason, these have stopped responding. In my effort to "have a look" I removed the faceplate. This provided a cascade of mechanical parts to drop out on my counter. For a technician, I'm sure this is par for the course. For me it prompts a radical change of course. The tuner works very well and sounds remarkably good if you can tune a station. All of the parts will be included and you can have it for the cost of getting it to you. The cosmetics are very good and the unit might be quite a find for a collector.

Next up is the Kenwood. Tuner works perfectly and appearance is at least 7-8. The dial lights are out. The variable outputs are disabled and there is a broken RCA jack on the back panel which will require replacement. I'd like to net $150 for this one.

The Sony is not working and I cannot say why. I realize these tuners are a cult piece and sell for too much used. Therefore, I reckon the guy who fixes it is in for a big payday if he gives me $50 and pays shipping, etc. This piece looks like new and comes with manual, remote and original box.

I have taken to using my old iMac to stream radio. All 3 tuners have been sitting for some time. Now I am house cleaning and they must go.

macrojack, I sent you a PM in response to the duplicate thread, before I saw clelow's earlier response.

I moved the duplicate thread to IGWB to avoid any further confusion. Mine was the only response in it.

Thanks, Rich.

The same putz factor that caused me to double post kept me from correcting the error. I appreciate the rescue effort.

Noted. Several suitors at the moment but you never know what will pan out. As the pricing indicates, I'm not looking for a big payday --- just an easy simple transfer from me to someone who can use them. All are as is, non-functioning. All look good and merit some degree of restoration.

Tom,
Sony tuna received on Friday in good condition, and very well packed, thanks.

I guess FedEx knocked some sense into it, because it works just fine!  :thumb:

Easily grabs stations that my Sansui tuner has trouble with.
