Hi,
Selling my wonderful Nelson Pass First Watt SIT2 amp. This is a very special product that is rare to find on the used market. There are lots of favorable reviews online. The one that got my attention was from 6Moons. I have owned the amp for nearly two years. I am reluctant to sell it but "Spousal Acceptance Factor" dictates that I consolidate my equipment into the originally conceived stereo cabinet.
The SIT2 puts out a thundering 10 watts of Class A beauty. At 10 watts per channel you will probably want speakers that are 90db efficient or better. The amp runs a single Static Inductor Transistor(SIT) per channel in single ended mode and has many of the sonic attributes of a really good DHT tube amp. The inputs are RCA single ended. It does have a pair of jumpers on the back side which allow you to bypass the 100k ohm input buffer. If your DAC or preamp has a really low output impedance the lower 10K setting will buy you that last bit of clarity from an already pristine amp.
Cosmetically the amp is in mint condition. The serial number is #1673. I emailed Nelson Pass recently regarding the warranty status and his reply was:
"No problems, the repair rate is so low that we don’t worry about
warranty. It breaks, you pay the freight here, unless you’re off shore,
in which case you pay freight and stuff both ways."
Pretty cool. It does give one a good feeling about the build quality.
The amp costs $5000 new and is a current model. I believe that my price is very fair at_____. I will ask the buyer to pay for shipping (in CONUS only) but I will eat PayPal fees.
I have excellent feedback on Audiogon, EBAY and Head-Fi as "mourip".
Comes with original box and packing, owners manual, and power cord.
Best,
Paul
