Wind Chaser

How loud could it drive your living room speakers which require more than 2 watts?

In my 120 sf bedroom, the Zen Select drove a pair of Tekton Lore Reference perfectly.   In my living room, which opens into the kitchen and hallway and is probably 500 SF or so, the Decware was not as good with dynamically charged songs on my Zu Druids. However, with vocalists and jazz, the Decware goes toe to toe with both Concident Franks and Audion Golden Dreams at say 70-75dB or so.  However, when you push the volume knob up, then the differences between all three amps become more apparent.  I love Decware.  I have owned 5 or 6 of their amps and if you only need 2 watts, this amp cannot be beat.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.

With 100dB sensitive speakers or more its easy.
How much is the speaker sensitivity/impedance?
The room is small?

Have you sold this amp yet??  If not, did you do the cap upgrade or just the stepped volume??
