Navigating DVD -A or Dual disk without a monitor

Since I'm a two-channel type (luddite) and have no experience with DVD-A, I'm wondering if all such disks (and dual disks), can be played in two channel mode without navigating via an attached monitor/display.

I'm ineterested in a universal player but don't anticipate attaching a CRT.

If all DVD-As cannot simply be plopped into the machine and the play button pushed, is there a way to indentify the ones that are user friendly?

thanks for the info.

Unfortunately, playing back DVD-A's wqithout some type of monitor can be painful. I use a portable DVD player when I need it.  I got it for long car rides with the kids. It is ideal, and only cost about $150.

If you have a need for one anyway this is the easiest path.

Enjoy,
Bob

Bob,
thanks for the info.  good suggestion.  I was afraid of that.   Guess this is the reality of being two-channel in a multi-channel world.

I have seen small (6"-8") B&W TV's at places like Wallmart for really cheap. Connect it with the composite video cable directly to the DVD-A player.

These units are small enough to hide beside your listening chair.
