Townshend Rock mk3 on Ebay
« on: 27 Feb 2017, 07:35 pm »
Just a quick heads-up to the vinylistas out there....

Auction ends tonight:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Townshend-Rock-MK-III-Turntable-Rega-RB300-Audio-Technica-ML-150-OCC-package-/112310720859?hash=item1a263d995b:g:i7QAAOSwB-1Yq8k2

Appears to be in great shape.  If this goes for say $800 or less, it's a steal!
Even at $1k, it will hang with setups at multiples the price.

Been listening to mine since 1997.  Love it!       :thumb:

PS:  no association with the seller.  Just wanted to inform of a potentially great deal.

Good Grief! How much do you charge for a Casa Spelly setup?

The Rock arrived today. I can't tell you how much I hate Styrofoam peanuts. He must have dumped a whole bag in the box. The table was buried in it.

There's a cart on the arm, but the stylus appears to be MIA. Don't recall if the seller mentioned that.

Good news is that the motor does appear to be working. Didn't notice at first because the power indicator does not illuminate.

Have to read the manual later when I get home from work....

Table bouncing around loose in peanuts      :o  ......DISASTER!      :duh:      :nono:

Another moronic seller.   You should have instructed him exactly how to pack it.
Should have been snugly encased in thick foam and double boxed.   Solid like a big overstuffed pillow.
No bouncing around.  Hell, I even ship much lighter tonearms this way.

I hope he at least removed subplatter and bearing to not damage it.  But I suspect he didn't.

Look the table over REALLY carefully if it was packed like that. And let us know if we can be of any help.
