Hi there all,

I've been a member here for a decade, or so it seems like just yesterday, and am reaching to see if anyone has a good preamp with balance in and outputs that would be willing to loan me.

I know this is crazy to ask, but I was never one short of equipment, infact I do have two Sansui Tuners, a 217 and 517, two Adcom amps, a 555 and 535 that I can return as a loan or temporay trade.

I just sold my integrateds and am getting a Pass Labs X350.5, however, I don't have any preamp besides the Oppo HA-1, which works fine, but wanted to see if I can find something temporary to match with the Pass amp.

If you have something and are willing to loan it, of course I will pay shipping to and from, please let me know!

Spencer, thanks for the the kind offering.  I would love to take you up on one of those....Which one do you think will match well with the Pass?

FYI, I am no longer in SF/Oakland, I am now back in Washington State, been here since February. 

I am going to PM you my number, still a 415 number.

Thanks for the address update.  I was about to put them both in my car and drive to SF

Regarding which would be a better option, I think the Jaton would generally be regarded as a higher quality unit.  But I don't know about specific synergy with your equipment.

Hopefully some other AC members can chime in with their opinion.

350.5, nice amp.  I had a X250 and used a Pass XP10 preamp.  I still have the XP10 but use a Levinson amp.  Sorry, the XP10 is not for loan or sale, but I do highly recommend it if looking for a great match with your amp.  When I had my X250 I A/B'd the XP10 against a Levinson 326s and in my opinion the 326 didn't come close to sounding better and it was twice the price.  You do have to consider synergy, but in my set up the 326 just didn't cut it.

It appears you're being taken care of, but I'll extend the offer of my AVA T8 tube preamp, too. I'm about to take delivery of a D. Sachs Model 2 (SP14). This will result in my T8's becoming boxed up and mostly unused.
