Should I change my order?
« on: 9 Nov 2004, 02:34 am »
Hi All:

I recently ordered 5 epiphanies along with a sub made by Alain from Klaus.  I had planned to run these for HT with a Marantz SR-7200 receiver.  My family room does double duty as my HT and two channel listening.  My question is would I be better off getting just three epiphanies L,R, & C and using existing NHT Super Zero's as surrounds and using the xtra money towards a Khartago/Etesian combo.  I believe my receiver has pre outs for my mains and I assume the Etesian has a pass through or AV through.  My thought is to use the Khartago to run my mains and the Marantz to run the Center and rears.  I am thinking this would make my HT better but make my two channel listening WAY better.  :D   I also could just leave my order alone and save up for the Khartogo/Etesian.  I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thanks,

rklein

rklein,
i'm not a home theater expert.. but I think the front three channels are far more important than the rear surrounds (which your nht speakers seem more than adequate for).  If I were you, I'd go with your second idea and buy the khartago/etesian combo-this should be a significant improvement over your marantz receiver and if you want, you can use those channels for other purposes.  give klaus a call-he should be able to do an av pass through on the etesian.  keep us posted on what you decide.  good luck.

vpolineni:

Thanks for your reponse.  I talked with Klaus today and we have decided to stay with the original order plus he is sending me a Khartago so that I can audition and play HT & 2-channel knowing that I am either sending him back two epiphanies or keeping all 5 and sending back the Khartago. From all the positive posts I have been reading about Odyseey gear, I can't wait to get mine. I must say that Klaus is absolutely super do deal with. :thumb: Maybe after my 2nd child is through college, my epiphanies will turn into Loreleis :hyper:

Cheers,
