A friend of mine asked me a question that I am not sure how to answer. He said that he has an HDTV with a digital cable box. He has hooked up his component video from the DVD-R/VCR to the TV. The cable box is wired to the TV. How does he record to the DVD-R? I suggested either a splitter if it doesn't degrade the signal from the cable box. Or, take the cable box to the DVD-R/VCR and then back to the TV, which will surely degrade the signal. Any ideas? Thx.
