... and now for something completely different! Especially from all the comic book movies.  Dame Maggie Smith basically has an entire movie to herself, and you still want more of her at the end.  This a showcase for a special talent.  Rotten Tomatoes loved it and I did too.
Basically a story of an old woman marginalized by life and age.  Great performance with such subtle detail.

Thanks for pointing this moving out to us :thumb: Must have slipped through the cracks for me. I'll have to give it a watch.

YUP...........Spot on,this is a good one. Went into this fearing the zzzzzzz of the BBC,instead i was rewarded with a darkly poignant comedy with a bit of a message about the dimmer days of the final chapter.

Saw this at the theater, another 2nd for the previous recommendations, lovely movie.  Possibly the most technically perfect performance of her illustrious career.  The precision of her portrayal is a marvel, and of course she carries the entire movie with, as mentioned, most of the film being just Maggie in character.

Yes a very good movie! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Maggie's performance and the story she told. A real breath of fresh air from all of the high dollar CGI movies of late.

Make room on the bandwagon for me to agree as well!    Set not far from where my aunt lived when I was a kid, its scenic period accuracy brought a flood of memories back.
