OK, maybe I'm getting old, but this movie was just stupid. It packs literally every action movie cliche into it's 100 minute running time that I can think of. Main character a badass who's burning out? Check. Evil middle easterners who are able to perform great damage and do it with a glint of glee in their eye? Check. Lots and lots and lots and LOTS of machine gun fire that only kills the non-main characters? Check. Manipulative, ham fisted jingoistic message? Check. Full throated embrace of the 'lets get payback' narrative? Check. Bombs and explosions that would kill you instantly if you were anywhere close to them, yet our guys always get up and dust themselves off? Check.
Egads, what a stupid, stupid movie. I never saw the original Olympus Has Fallen, and now I never will. Seriously, avoid this crap at all costs.
