Reader's digest LP's
« on: 20 Apr 2016, 12:12 am »

   Hi Guys:

My next door neighbor was dumping a lot of old LP's today. He put all the LP tunes on a reel to reel  system.
I didn't want any of his LP's because his choice of tunes is different than mine. BUT!!! He did have a collection
of "The Story of the Great Bands 1936 to 1945" by Reader"s Digest. They are stereo LP's and I don't know when they were recorded.
They are in pristine condition!!. Everything like album covers and the original box they came with are in pristine condition.
I've listened to the first 2 out of 10 LP's today. Reminds me of when my Ladies and I would go out for the evening to dinner and
music and dancing. AAAHHHH!!!! The good old days. Never see those days again.Younger people don't know what they have missed.

                                                                        Cheers
                                                                      Charlie

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

The Readers Digest LPs are great, great music, well recorded and great vinyl quality, take all these stuff right now. :thumb:

If I remember well they were manufactured by RCA Custom Products Division and some were tape recorded by RCA Living Stereo.

Right!! These LP'S were recorded by RCA. They were originally 78  mono albums.  RCA did a great job rerecording them to LP stereo.

I'll second this. A guy I just bought a record off of threw an old Reader's Digest record in the box as well and (after a good cleaning) it sounds /great/! It is indeed RCA Custom and the vinyl quality is superb (I wish new vinyl was manufactured to this standard),
