This FET Valve TOPP-DAC (Technically Optimized Parallel Processing) uses hybrid MOSFET/tube circuitry in the analog output stage, to enhance the output from your CD player with a slightly warm sense of smoothness and clarity. What I notice with this DAC is more subtle shading than dramatic change, with the effects mostly in the upper-mid and treble ranges. In particular, it helps reduce the grittiness of less than stellar recordings and improves the presence of any recording.
