Hello All!
« on: 6 Mar 2016, 05:38 pm »
Hello Everyone,

I'm 33 from the Southwest UK.  I've been into audio for the last couple of years, starting with a headphone-based system and a small speaker system.

I have a strong interest in DIY and during my research into speakers and speaker building over the last few months I have often found myself reading the threads here so felt like it was time to introduce myself.

Looking forward to reading more and hopefully contribute too.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'm pretty much a beginner. Only projects to-date have been a modified Bottlehead Crack headphone amp and a DIY headphone cable.

I'm now looking into speakers and after the satisfaction the Crack build/listening gave me I feel DIY is the only way to go!

Just a question of deciding what where and how!  Would like to go with a full-range design  but struggling a little with the size & placement of most of the speaker designs - at least for my room.  So i've been looking into open-baffle instead - might be a good place to start for a first speaker build :)

Very smart approach (headphones as primary and small speakers for casual listening) if you don't have a nice dedicated/isolated listening room.

Welcome aboard!
