Do any servers or (or similar products) give me ALL the features of J River?

I love J River - it lets me instantly link to lyrics, wiki, images - almost any link I want to set up. I can enter tag corrections.  I love to look up the history and discography of artists and songs while listening (Etta Baker recorded over a 90 year span - I learned that).  I am on my 3rd dedicated PC, now using linear power supplies and upgraded SOtM USB outlets.  But I still want better sound, of course.   There are  several devices that say they support J River, such as the Auralic Aries,  but they have no video output, which I believe is needed to access all of J River's features.  I use my kindle as a remote, but it provides no more than basic data.  Any suggestions?

Wow! I did not know that. You're saying Etta James began recording 12 years before she was born and continued to this day, more than three years since her death. Or did she begin recording at least 15 years before her birth. As I've always said, audiophiles are the most gullible consumers on the planet.

  • It Just Sounds Right
Baetis is the only one I can think of as it uses Jriver. Pretty much all of the other audiophile servers I can think of are audio only. Baetis models sound pretty good and they have a direct to consumer model called the prodigy starting at $2k. From their website it sounds like they prequalify you first - probably because they don't want the headaches of dealing with the completely computer illiterate.

For more functionality for your existing setup I suggest the jremote app.

Some like Roon even more than Jriver if your into rich metadata - but this is audio only as well.

You don't have to have video out for a metadata rich experience imho. I also think the video hardware potentially generates noise that you don't want. With audio servers the simpler the better re : the hardware and software for maximum sound quality. Better I believe to have separate machine to deliver audio vs video content.
