I have a great sounding and great looking Linn Kairn that needs a new home.
This is a later model Kairn, serial number 6000+ so it has the newer and better sounding Brilliant psu. It is the Pro model so it does not have the phono.
This unit retailed for around $2500
I've replaced the surface mount battery so it's good for another decade or two.
As an ex LK1 owner the Kairn surprised me in how it presents itself. It is a big, rich, full sounding pre with a tonal balance on the warm side. It does bass very well and is very musical and non fatiguing. Soundstaging is first rate with excellent depth and nice separation of elements in the stage.
You would definitely want to pair this with a power amp with a cooler presentation- it works very well with a big Krell in my system.
I have the original Linn multi function remote and a downloaded manual, but no box. It will be packed carefully and shipped safely.
The condition is borderline 8 on the Audiogon scale, though I've cautiously listed it as a 7 as there are minor cosmetic blemishes- the front is clean.
This is a great preamp and if you have Linn power amp(s) then so much the better. It has three sets of outputs so perfect for triamping or driving multiple subs.
