This film deals with a particularly shameful period in recent U.S. history - the HUAC committee exploits of the 1950s. Cranston plays the lead beautifully, as you might expect, and Helen Mirren churns out a spellbinding Hedda Hopper. If you are unfamiliar with Dalton Trumbo, do yourself a favor and read up on him. And for gods sake, do see this film.
