Listened to three of his albums after I heard the news with some cognac in his honor.  A very special artist indeed.  RIP

Placing its indelible stamp on my senior year in college in 1972-73, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is my sentimental favorite.  Can't even count the number of times I've listened to it over the years.  That old record still sounds great today at the age of 44 years on my VPI Classic.  Starman easily makes my all time favorite songs list.

It is trully a sad news.

I personnally discovered David when I was a young teen in the movie Labyrinth of which I loved the soundtrack.  Afterward, I discovered many other albums and I a few of those with all his greatest hits.

I've not had the chance of listening to "Blackstar" yet, but that is on my list of purchase in a near future.

A legend he was, a classic he will remain.  His legacy will live on.

Take care.

Bowie narrates a recording of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf in a 1977 recording by the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of the great hand of Eugene Ormandy.  His is the most alluring narration of this work I have ever heard.  It's available now in CD from Amazon.  I feel fortunate that I have the original green vinyl recording.  This recording is evidence of the diversity of David Bowie's talent.  There are so many other examples.
