Ahem, was able to answer my own question using my SB Touch to output 24/88.2.

Yes, the Grant DAC will process 24/88.2 via coax input - but not via USB input.

For the record the TubeDAC-11 will process all variations of 16 and 24 bit up to 24/192 - but only up to 24/96 via the usb (ie the usb input will not process 24/88.2, 24/176 or 24/192 but the coax will).
