Hi, I have my original oldie-but-goodie, an SP1.  I am wondering about a firmware update, hopefully to resolve an interruptive "Detecting" the digital signal type that repeatedly occurs during listening on digital inputs (I've also googled for other info on this, but found no resolution).

I reviewed the Bryston FTP site, ftp://bryston.com/pub/ , but only found the SP3 firmware updates.

Can anyone refer me to where they are or how to obtain them?  The SP1 reports v18.0.

Hi again, I'm wondering if this is a "dumb question" or something else I am missing on it, as it has lots of reads but no comment!  I then emailed Bryston this question too but no reply on that yet either. 

Perhaps my SP1 already has the latest firmware?  Or is it not upgradable?  Is the original SP so old now that it is unsupported/unfavorable?  Is this the wrong place for this question?

My system was in storage for years and have been starting to use it again in new theatre room, so planning some upgrades and new pieces.  Weighing SP options as well.

I am in France. I have a Bryston SP1.

 I have a problem on digital inputs.

DVD & LD does not detect input signals?  the light is red.
CD & TV / SAT detected ok, the light is green. But does not DTS.
What can be the problem please?

Hi, regarding your personal message to me on this problem, my problem reads different than yours.

To answer your question though ("Did you solve the error"), I did not receive a reply from Mike and the problem still remains.  However, I eventually bought an SP-2 which has a similar problem on some CDs and also loses the first few seconds of audio on DVDs and BluRay while it determines the source encoding.

I shipped the SP-2 in for repair, they made an "adjustment", but its problem still remains.
