Fet Valve DAC with USB and Raspberry Pi
« on: 18 Nov 2015, 08:50 pm »
Hi All,
I just purchased (used) an AVA Fet Valve DAC with USB Streamer board and I absolutely love it. My question is if anyone has any experience driving this from a Raspberry Pi usb source. I have tried running both RuneAudio and Volumio and found that when I play music from any source there is a crackling and popping noise. I know it's not the DAC since I can play via USB from my Linux Laptop without problem. The only thing I can think of is that the Raspberry Pi doesn't have enough horsepower to drive the usb.
Also, are there any specs that I can read somewhere about the USB board in the Dac? If I knew more about it, I might be able to search for drivers or read about other integrations with systems that could shed some light.

Thanks as always for the help!
