Hello I need some quick help for the not too handy.  I Just received  a replacement enclosure.  The leads from the driver use the standard red and black clips.  However , the wires on the new enclosure (attached to binding posts) have a large plastic housing-not the female clip ends i was expecting.  How do you connect the two?  A picture is below for ready reference.

Do i cut the metal clips off the driver leads and try and push the ends into the tiny holes in the plastic? Or is the plastic removable and after i get it off, i then either solder or use electrical tape to connect?  Feels like the plastic is on pretty tight.  This may seem basic, but im a total newb on the DIY end and im confused....lol

It looks like the obvious solution is to cut all connectors and solder the wires to each other.  Then use heat shrink to protect the connection from oxidation.
Next best would be to remove the plastic connector and solder spade connectors... then it would fit the leads from the driver.  Either way, that plastic thing has to go.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
Preferably silver lead free solder.
