YG Acoustics Carmel

List: $18,000
Sell: $6,150

Excellent condition. Have packing crate, but you'll need a service to pick these up and put inside, due to my back problems.
Have the spikes, but not the Delrin pucks (I was using Stillpoints).
Selling due to move and downsizing.
Email for pics.

From the review in Enjoy the Music:
“That the Carmel belongs in the reference class is unquestionable. More than that, I have selected it to be my new reference. That's just going to raise the bar for any new speakers that come my way for review. ... if you are spending upwards of $15,000 on a pair of speakers it's worth going out of your way to give the Carmel a listen. You can thank me later.”

From the TAS review:
“For listeners with small to mid-size listening spaces, the YG Carmel is an extraordinary loudspeaker—one that marries the virtues of mid-size, near full-range floorstanders with those of classic, two-way stand-mount monitors. But the speaker’s true worth lies in its ability to let the music—all of the music—through to communicate with you, unfettered, unadulterated, evocative, and alive.”

From Soundstage Ultra review:
“I really enjoyed hearing in my room the YG Acoustics Carmel -- a loudspeaker that is, in my mind, a state-of-the-art design. .. More important is the kind of clarity and sense of space the Carmels were able to produce... Although a dynamic speaker, the Carmel’s clean, clear imaging and wonderful transient response reminded me more of an electrostatic speaker. The fact that the Carmel achieved a level of performance near that of its big brothers at this price is one impressive accomplishment.”

My sons and I can pack these carefully in the crates for Richard and have them ready for pickup by the carrier, if needed.

I have heard these a couple times at Richard's house. It's amazing the coherence and lifelike sound they have.

Edit: The new Stereophile issue just arrived in the mail. Guess what's on the cover?  :D
