There was just a pair of AV123 XLS on Ebay for $85 plus $40 shipping.  Not perfect but a good deal for what they are.

FWIW - if you're having someone make cabinets for you, a set of XLS Encores will probably run around $700.  In that context, these are an absolute steal:  http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=138757.msg1477490#msg1477490
