Offline for a bit - play nice
« on: 17 Aug 2015, 09:04 pm »
I've got surgery coming up crack of dawn tomorrow so try and behave yourselves.
I know it doesn't come naturally.
If I'm not back by 8/21/15 it means the dopes killed me off so someone volunteer to run this (and the Karma and the Vintage Circles).
Thank you,
Steve Ford

Make sure the surgical team understands how nice your main system sounds, and that they are all invited over to listen ONLY upon your successful recovery.  I'm sure you'll be fine.

Best wishes!

Michael

P.S. Must we really behave? :green:

Thank you, gentlemen.  This will be a tricky operation but the surgeon has lots of experience so I expect to come through things just fine.
I've GOT to come through it just fine, I have to pick up my old VTLs up in Massachusetts.  They're paid for and are waiting for me!

Yes, the AC crowd is a good one, that's the reason I volunteered to do this.  Some sites are just totally crazed but this one isn't.
It's actually a place for grown ups.
JohnR takes a lot of abuse (at random intervals, probably based on heightened sunspot activity or some damned thing) but he runs the only audio site that I consider to be home.

Well, that was certainly quick and painful!
Now I just need to sleep a lot and then it's next stop, oral surgeon.

"next stop, oral surgeon."

Root canal? Bridge? Implants? They are so much fun! I've got a nice BMW parked in my mouth.  :duh:

Every time I start looking at expensive speakers or fancy high-end DACS, something else announces its presence in my jaw. Invariably, this 'presence' must be 'fixed' to the tune of $5k to $8k.  :o

Not exactly but eventually I'll be whittling up my very own set of wooden teeth.
The sinus infection got into the roots of a tooth which was extracted back in April.  It just started wiggling around, it was kind of painful and the roof of my mouth was inflamed.
The oral surgeon yanked the tooth (which is what I asked him to do) but then he dug away and dug away and dug away some more in an attempt to get the infected material out and then he packed the hole full of antibiotics.
That didn't work out too well as I ended up with a hole running from my mouth into my sinus cavity.  He meant well.
Today I got the sinus cleared up and the hole shut at the sinus end (there were two surgeons working on me earlier today).
Now I have to get the hole closed up at the other end by the oral surgeon and with any luck, I will FINALLY be back to normal.

Wishing you well with all that Steve. Doesn't sound like too much fun but you seem to be in good spirits.

There is no more 'normal' once you have visited the dark side. :icon_twisted:

Lynda says that she's burying me with all of my junk because I'll miss it and I'll stick around and haunt her if she doesn't.
She's usually right so DIG ME UP AT YOUR PERIL because I can be a real pain in the ass when I want to be.

Don't they give that job to the proctologist?

For those of you who asked (thank you), I had the first check up yesterday and everything is going well.
The surgeons did a lot of work and one part was cutting out a healthy section of sinus tissue and stitching that over the hole that the oral surgeon dug into me.  That explains all of the stitches in the roof of my mouth.
The bleeding has finally stopped, I hope, and tomorrow I'll be off of the antibiotics and good to go.
Not the most fun I've ever had but not nearly as bad as the first sinus surgery I had many years ago.  That was bad.
