Dennis makes fantastic single ended amps.  I have one of his (it's my avatar) and the audio merry go round, at least in term of preamp/amp, has stopped for me!

For those who do not know the Dennis Had name, he was the founder and chief engineer for Cary Audio until he "retired" a few years back.  He is making them in his garage workshop now.  As he is making them by hand himself, the number of these out there will not be great.  Sure to be collector's items.  He even signs and dates each one on the bottom.

How often do you find the tubes last?  Also, is there self-bias?

This is a fantastic deal for anything handmade by Dennis Had. The Cary 805 was my first big-boy audio piece, and to this day it was well worth working a second summer job.

Amp is auto-bias.

I have appx 300 hrs on the output tubes, so don't have a good feel for that.  Driver/rectifier should go for years.

Dennis sells his latest projects direct on ebay under the handle radioman.
Low volume, mostly single-ended pentodes and triodes.
