Iam not a vinyl fan, but it seems interesting as a Laser reading vinyl has no wear.

That technology is old news and not all reviewers were very kind to it.  There are a lot of records that are very playable and listenable on any decent traditional turntable that this laser-guided bomb would choke on (the pun is intentional  ).

But it does look pretty cool.  8)

I think the main application for these is museum and historical type archives, where you wouldn't want to degrade the physical condition, no matter how little, by contact with a physical stylus.  Absolute fidelity is not a priority.

On the specs chart page they say the dinamic range is 55dB, seems low, at least the playback are infinitely detailed as any turntable with a needle.

I've heard one but the brand was different then.  Same technology different badge.
Dust on the surface sounds like explosions not just crackling.  Clean records are essential but there is a limit to anal compulsive.

You can only play black vinyls on this thing as well I believe I read at one point.

So all of those special limited edition vinyls that might have in multiple colors become worthless.

I wasn't just horrified at this analog purity quantization device, but also the fact it was far more expensive than my LP-12 rig.  :(

I remember reading about this table decades ago and I am still shocked that the company is still down this path. I thought then as I do now, we already have CDs, so what are you trying to accomplish? Records get worn by many other things then just playing them, it's handling them, putting them into sleeves, aging process. I have some records that are 30-40-50 years old and record wear, just isn't an issue, at least not at this house.

I guess I'd just have to say none for me, thanks.

I am curious if anyone in the circles actually has a laser record player? It seems like a great idea and some of the more exotic tt setups I see at RMAF cost far more. (I'm a newbie to the audiocircle so this is my first post and I'm afraid I don't have much to say compared to others)   :|

I agree but I like having at least two turntables hooked up!
