I think they look great too.  I like the  V-groove idea, sure  makes for a lot less prep work.  Think the 45 bevel would look great with the V... might have to try that on a pair myself  :beer:

Actually, the prep is the same either way.

I  usually use 45 degree joints to eliminate telegraphing altogether, but I'm building the Encores CHEAP. The V-grooved butt joint method is a little more efficient and adds a nice touch.
